MY TOP TIPS FOR LEADERS TO EVALUATE RESULTS!Sep 18, 2022
How do you evaluate your effectiveness as a leader?
Having a process of evaluation in place when it comes to your personal business, working with your teams and your training, is essential to measuring your results.
Consistent evaluation will also help YOU build endurance and strengthen YOUR mind and skill sets. As a leader and entrepreneur you are in a constant state of change, always tweaking and revising to get the results you want.
Like your Mom always said, ‘actions speak louder than words’! This is very true when it comes to leadership. People are watching, listening and learning using ALL the senses.
Let me ask you… if your team members did what you do, would you be happy with the results?
So, what are the 3 ways you can evaluate your results as a leader? Here’s what I do:
Is power! BUT...knowledge without action is just knowledge. Knowledge and learning must be applied to be effective. Here are some questions you might ask yourself:
- What is it that you know?
- What do you need to know in order to feel confident in this area?
- What have I learned?
For me, I often learn the most through teaching and training. I keep myself sharp by doing what I train others to do.
I CAN ONLY HELP OTHERS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE I HAVE.
- Have I executed on the plan / idea/ strategy?
Did you follow the plan as it was laid out? Step back and evaluate what the plan was versus how it was actually executed. This will help you decide whether the strategy can be easily and successfully duplicated with new team members.
- What actions were taken?
If the actions taken strayed from the original plan, or were tweaked somehow along the way, it’s also good to revise the overall system going forward.
Consistent practice of what does work is the best way to ensure success for you and your team.
- What are the results so far, given the knowledge and actions taken?
- How does this compare with the results I am aiming for?
By evaluating the results, it allows me, as a leader, to tweak what may not be working so well and practice what is.
I believe, as an entrepreneur and a leader, that there are NO FAILURES in business.
Being a business owner and leader is a journey!
The road is filled with ups and downs, highs and lows and everything in between.
The key to being a successful leader is to be able to learn from any situation, good or bad and keep right on going. You have to know how to pivot at a moment’s notice and be resilient no matter what.
YOUR TEAM IS ALWAYS LOOKING TO YOU.
